Lead Management

The William Glasser Institute also works extensively with organisations, such as schools, to replace External Control Psychology with Choice Theory as the psychology that drives the system.

Choice empowers our staff to choose the way we want to work and how we treat each other and want to be treated.
Choice liberates us to be true to what we want and who we are.
Choice is about the celebration of truth, faith and vigour.
Mrs Carolin Tan, Principal, Gan Eng Seng School

In practice, this means moving from a boss management approach to one of lead management.

Lead managers continually work on the system to create a non-coercive environment where students/ workers can self-evaluate and achieve quality of work. The only way any organisation is able to achieve this quality goal rests with the lead manager’s ability to persuade students/ employees to continually upgrade their system of communicating to one that builds trust.
